    At it again

For the last couple of months I have managed to get my butt into a rehearsal studio with three other guys to put together a blues/rock set list for a possible showcase in October. (They don't know this yet.) Because this is the vacation time of year (going on a cruise next week, myself), we haven't been rehearsing with a full complement over the past few weeks. That's OK, we aren't playing with a full deck, either. In any case, I think I might be onto something. I'm not nearly as depressed as I usually am at this point in the rehearsal process. We are roughly halfway through compiling an 8-10 song set list and it will include tunes from the likes of Savoy Brown, Robert Johnson, Carl Perkins, perhaps the obscure Jack Bruce song "Sonny Boy Willliamson" and to indulge my 60s nostalgia, "Fresh Air" by Quicksilver Messenger Service.

I'll be bringing my acoustic guitar on the cruise with the idea that I will actually spend time practicing. Right, and Faye Wray begged King Kong to take her to the top of the Empire State Building because she wanted to see New Jersey.

    Thanks for dropping by!

Welcome to my blog. I posted a welcome message several days ago, but somehow managed to delete it, so I don't remember what I said at the time. Well, here's part of it...at some point in the future I will change the answer to the question "Looking for other musicians to jam with?" from "No" to "Yes." Right now, however, I am making a half-hearted attempt to set up a project here in NYC with musicians with whom I have already worked. That, plus other activities such as world domination should keep me busy for the foreseeable future.

    Feel free to leave comments.

    Enjoy!

Since I spend a great deal of time in Internet forums getting into arguments, I only visit this blog once or twice a week at most. So, if you have been generous enough to make a comment, add me to your friends list or invite me to join your group, please don't take it personally if I fail to respond right away.
